One day of the Polish-Mother-Artist- who is trying to fight with the ideal of The Polish Mother (Matka Polka). She is dressed up in the black dress characteristic for the 19th century of a great national grief, when the myth of The Polish Mother was constituted. Women at that time were moaning after the dead heroic fathers, brothers, sons and husbands. They were taking care of the households, they were bringing up children and did not take part in political life. Anonymously and without a grim fulfilled their roles. This is how they are remembered and mythologised in the social consciousness. Now, in the 21st century women are struggling with this ideal picture. They are expected to be good mothers, wives and professionally fulfilled women, who don’t forget to take care of themselves, they have passions and they actively take part in the cultural life…..
