Once a year, hanabi, a huge fireworks show, is organized on the Tama River. This show attracts nearly half a million people. It gets so crowded that festival guidelines stipulate a maximum of 90cm by 90cm allowance on the lawn for one person!

The photography series was made during the morning preparations for the show, yet this is not a story about fireworks, it is a story about Japanese mentality, coexistence in a group, respect to others – 心 遣 い kokorozukai.  This is a cultural recognition of privacy, rules.
